The Bridges Program at the PLC is a "hand-up" program that helps you supply baby needs by attending classes on parenting, pre-natal care, baby care, and a variety of other topics, including our "Bridges" meetings. By attending classes, you receive "Baby Bucks" to purchase baby items at the PLC Baby Store.
The monthly "Bridges" meeting is held the second Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 220 S. Walnut in Van Wert. This is a time to get together for door prizes, refreshment, and a brief lesson on Godly parenting. Child care is always available. The Bridges meeting is for PLC clients and their families, and "Baby Bucks" are given for attendance, just as at other types of classes. Please call to register at 419-238-9177 if you plan to attend.
We also support your involvement in other community services that improve your life or the life of your baby. Additional ways to earn "Baby Bucks" include:
- WIC appointments
- Help Me Grow visits
- Classes at the hospital
- Grads classes (for teen moms)
- ANDY program
- Immunization visits
- Attending local church services
- Completing Bible Studies
