Notes from the Director

It is hard to believe that we have already had two very successful fund raisers in 2011.  The first took place in January at Trinity Friend’s Church for Sanctity of Life.  Phil and Donna Reaser did a phenomenal job at sharing their testimony, and they helped us raise just over $2,000.  Trinity Friend’s also hosted the Hoop it up for Life fund raiser in March.  Young and old gathered together to shoot free throws for a good cause.  This brought in $500 for the PLC.  We graciously thank Trinity Friend’s and all of the supporters who helped make these fund raisers successful.

Our focus now will be on the Walk for Life Fundraiser.  This year the theme for the walk will be “Legacy”, and will be held on Saturday August 6th at 9 am at Fountain Park in Van Wert.  The PLC wants to leave a lasting legacy and we want you to be a part of it.  Right now the PLC staff and board are focusing their attention on corporate and church sponsors.  Please be in prayer for us and those we contact.  We want everyone’s heart to be in the right place as we make our requests for funds. We have been extremely blessed over the last several years with the generosity of the businesses and church’s in the Van Wert and surrounding area.  This portion of the fundraiser usually brings in over $10,000 for the PLC, and we need it to do the same this year despite the economy.

After the staff and board does their part, we rely heavily on all of you to help us raise the rest of the Walk for Life money.  The goal this year is to raise $27,000 through walk pledges.  This means we need as many of you as possible to get involved.  The process is not difficult at all.  Area churches, as well as the PLC and the Bridge Bookstore will have walk pledge forms.  You will have about a month to raise as much money as possible for the PLC.  Remember, you do not have to handle any money yourself.  Just have the person mark bill me and we will collect the funds for you.  Keep in mind, if you raise $200 or more you will receive a free PLC “Legacy” t-shirt.  We ask you to please consider helping us continue the PLC legacy while leaving your own.
